Belt Buckles...My Newest Obsession

O.K...it's been awhile since I talked about having a wild hair.  Some of my best stuff has been the result of said hair!  My wild hair projects are usually an excursion....this   one seems to have become an obession...

This was the first bunch.  I started with flowers made from turquoise and red glass beads filled in with textured white stained glass.  And...you can see what came after.

This was the second bunch.  I was trying to cover a wide range of tastes...how'd I do?

Here's the third bunch....right....I can't make two alike.  I will have to force myself to make more Colorado flags and Marijuana leaves.  My friend Viv says "Give the people what they want!"
My big departure here was my first try with epoxy instead of grout...

I used Italian millefiori in varying sizes along with some mottled stained glass,  finishing off with a cool pewter button.  And then...epoxy.  I think I may have a winner...I hope so anyway.

My next endeaver is a beaded buckle.  It's way more time consuming placing many of the beads one by one with a pair of tweezers.  I'll add it here when it's done!

Thanks for stopping by...I hope you enjoyed it.  If you are interested in buying a buckle just let me know.  I have some in a shop locally, but the others I can sell to you directly, or I can make one just for you!.

Peace

What Time Is It? or... Mosaic What You Want!

I paid pretty good money for this clock from a mail order catalog
which shall remain nameless. (Pottery Barn)

It was similar to this one, only, however many
years ago, it cost about $10 less.
The second hand would often get stuck, and time would stop.
If only it were that easy!
So one day I decided to make it into art...

I started by glueing glass around the outside edge,
and worked my way to the center.
During this process I learned that the second hand would
always sweep freely when the clock was on it's back...ha!

After I filled in all the spaces there was nothing left to do but grout...

Go on....masaic something!

Summer Mosaics

This summer I decided to do a couple projects for myself....Yay!
We have a paver stone patio on the side of the house...it's where the cool mosaic table is that I blogged about previously.

I saw this done on brick pavers in a book some years ago, and that's how long I've been planning to do it.

I replaced three random pavers in the patio this summer...

Each is it's own unique little piece of art...

I'll probably do a couple more next summer, but I don't want it to get too busy out there.

My other summer mosaic project was my kitchen window sill, also on my to do list for a couple of years!
(don't look at the wall...paint is next!)

Oh, if you're new here you may not know...I love color!
...and texture!
I made two rocks and a cool fossil part of the mosaic...
I sat on the edge with my feet in the sink for three days...owe my back!

Then I had to cover some of  it up with my stuff...
I love my stuff...
I have quite alot of it!

So, these were my summer projects for me.
Of course I made stuff for other people, and for my shop.
Check it out...
