Pressed Glass Medallion Sun Catchers

I found these cool pressed glass medallions that are made in Germany and had to have them.  As usual, I had no idea what I would do with them when I bought them.  My inspiration ended up being a metal trellis that I saw in someones front yard.

I chose small glass cabochons as accents,
and cut a length of wire for each medallion.

Then I gently shaped the wire around the medallions and cabochons.

I wrapped each medallion and cab edge in a strip of copper foil, and soldered them in place.

These were commission pieces for a customer who gives them as gifts in colors that match the recipients decor color scheme.  Cool idea!

It Aint Nuthin But A Ring...

If you're new here, you might not be aware of my penchant for putting things in rings!

Like the awesome Colorado Columbine...

Swirly bits of wire with colorful glass gems rolling about...

Small ones...

And large ones...

Heavenly ones...

And Naturely ones.

Blue ones...

And pink ones....

Autumn inspired...

And love inspired.

All this ring reminiscing is making me want to put some more stuff in rings!

Check out my shop!...
